The Story Behind
Aourir Waves

Aourir Waves was created as a different way to experience surf travel.
Not as a fixed itinerary, but as a living exchange between people, place, and daily life. We believe the most meaningful experiences happen when you move beyond the surface of a place — into its rhythm, its relationships, and its everyday moments.

Founder’s

Story

Aourir Waves grew from a shared feeling. That life could be slower, deeper, and more connected. We wanted a space where people could live fully, be themselves, and return to what really matters.

That feeling found its home here, on Mustapha’s ancestral land in the Souss region, where the Atlantic meets the mountains and daily life still moves with a natural rhythm.

Mustafa grew up here, shaped by the ocean, the land, and the Amazigh stories woven through generations. The connection between people and place was never something to learn — it was something lived.

Celina arrived from abroad, drawn not only to the landscape, but to a way of life rooted in presence, creativity, and cultural exchange. Her background in art and spatial storytelling now shapes how Aourir Waves is experienced — not just seen.

Together, we created Aourir Waves as a home shaped by both perspectives. A space where visitors are not placed outside of culture, but welcomed into a lived exchange within it.

At its heart, Aourir Waves is about connection — between surf and stillness, between people and place, between visitors and the rhythm of daily life here.

Surf. Rest. Remember. is how that connection takes form.

This place has shaped us. We hope it shapes you too.

The Aourir Waves team at our guesthouse in Morocco

Welcome to our home. We’re Mustapha, Latifa, and Celina

Mustapha grew up between the ocean and the mountains here in Aourir. He knows the waves, the land, and the quiet rhythms that sit behind both. Surfing is what he teaches — but what he shares runs much deeper, through stories, places, and a way of reading the sea that comes from living it.

Latifa is the heart of the home. Her care is in everything you feel here — from the meals shared at the table to the way the space holds you when you arrive. She brings warmth, grounding, and a sense of being looked after without needing to ask.

Celina brings together the threads — shaping the creative side of Aourir Waves, from cultural moments to workshops and experiences that open connection. Her work is about creating space for expression, exchange, and curiosity.

Alongside us is a circle of local surf guides, artisans, and practitioners who we know personally and work with closely — each one adding their own depth to your time here.

We’re so glad you’re here.
